HAES Running Blog: Big Girls Run 2

We are just two women of color and of size who decided to RUN in 2012. The inspiration for this blog came from our desire to be healthier and stronger. We believe that one can be healthy and have an active life style at any size.

About « Big Girls Run 2

Doing some research into resources for plus-size runners, I stumbled upon this blog.  You are looking at Curtissa & Mary, two women of color who run for fun & health regardless of the size of their bodies.  As a woman of size & a runner, I know I can never get enough of my fellow fat runners, & I see a lot of people of color looking for more representation in the HAES & size acceptance movements.  Naturally, when I came across this I had to share.  Running, HAES, & diversity? Fuck yeah!

I also noticed some posts about being a running mom, so that should appeal to some of you.

  2. Thanks so much for sharing this. I really enjoy your blog as well. I’m glad I’m not the only big girl who runs and exercises bc she enjoys it and not just for weight loss.

  3. Thanks for sharing our blog. Too often people think that they have to lose weight before doing things like running, but we want to encourage everyone to start where they’re at. You don’t have to be the fastest, just start moving. Plus, it’s way more mental than physical. Even some thin people don’t believe that they can run. It’s so cool to hear people that have never run before say that they want to try it because they see what we are doing. It inspires us to keep going:)
