20 Super-Effective Stability Ball Exercises | Greatist

I like stability ball exercises & this makes me want to pull mine out of storage.  I’m going to be getting into my storage unit this weekend…

Stability ball exercises can be especially good for people who have trouble getting down in the floor (or just back up).  For example you can do some good crunches on a ball.  They are relatively cheap (& if you find one used you can feel pretty secure buying it), easy to move around, don’t take up much space, & as you can see in this article there are a lot of things you can do with them.

Getting the right size is important, so here is some great advice on choosing the right size exercise ball.  It’s from Spine Health & includes not only a size chart by height, but some advice on adjusting for larger body sizes & to let some air out of the ball if it’s a little too unstable for you.  They also include a link to their own article on getting started with a ball routine.

  1. There are a ton of great things you can do with a stability ball! I use one in my Pilates classes when they’re on the smaller side, and I feel like the class gets so much more out of it. I’ve actually had people start to request we use the balls once it looks like it’s going to be a smaller group. One of the greatest tools out there.
