“It’s the same with people who say, ‘Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.’ Even people who say this must realize that the exact opposite is true. What doesn’t kill you maims you, cripples you, leaves you weak, makes you whiny and full of yourself at the same time. The more pain, the more pompous you get. Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you incredibly annoying.”
~Rob Sheffield, Love is a Mix Tape (Goodreads)
Well, not much of a running update this week, seeing as how I did not run at all. I have been having some lower back pain for a few weeks after getting a shot for a sinus infection. It took a turn for the excruciating this week, so I did not make it out. Nothing I took for it helped & the only way I could be at all comfortable was lying down. It was awful & I cried a few times it hurt so bad. I’m going to the doctor tomorrow & hopefully will get some good news. I thought it would go away on its own in a couple of weeks or so, but I was mistaken.
So blah, hopefully I’ll be back to running soon but after the pain got so bad I started having visions of ending up paralyzed or at least permanently stuck with the pain so I wanted to not risk making things worse.

Hope you are over your sinus infection. In researching for my book I learned that 96% of chronic sinus infections are fungal, according to Mayo Clinic, and that antibiotics can actually make them worse. I also learned that many people are deficient in D3, which can be a source of chronic pain. Just tossing out a couple of clues in case they apply.

Thank you. Unfortunately, it is not cleared up, so unless my doctor has something else to try tomorrow I’ll be looking at surgery. I just checked my multi & it has D3 in it, so I’m good on that front:)

Personally, I would not consider surgery before ruling out a fungal cause. http://www.mayoclinic.org/ent-rst/chronicsinus.html
Also, the D3 in a multi-vitamin cannot be nearly enough. The optimum amount is 5000 IU. Take a look at the six-minute video on my website by Dr. John Cannell of the Vitamin D Council at http://www.howtostopcolds.com/resources. This is new information that, as usual, has not been accepted by government.
