The DOs and DO NOTs of running your first marathon – The Oatmeal

I’m not quite a marathoner, but I saw this the other day & thought those of you who are would enjoy it.  I think those at less than 26.2mi distances could also use some of this “advice”.  The cupcakes are super cute, so I took this snippet to share.  There does seem to be several cupcake-themed races out there, & a surprising number of cupcake running blogs.

I’ve used this guy a few times, so I might as well tell you he has a new book coming out about running.  It’s based on a comic I have used before.

Bonus: cupcake recipe links under the cut.

Angel Banana Pudding Cupcakes
I made a version of these a few years ago & LOVED them.  They were just a box of angel food cake mix & pureed bananas.  I’m pretty sure adding the pudding & frosting would make them even better.

Vegan Chocolate Chai Tea Cupcakes
I mentioned smug tea the other day, so here’s some smug cupcakes.  They’re healthy, vegan, chocolate, & made with chai tea.  All they need are the happy tears of dolphins saved from tuna nets to be perfect.  There are ten other healthy cupcake recipes along with it.  They include things like gluten-free, quinoa, & clean eating.  The only thing they missed was paleo cupcakes.

Guinness, Whiskey and Irish Cream Cupcakes
I don’t know who wouldn’t like these, but I probably wouldn’t like that person.  These are Guinness-chocolate cupcakes with a whiskey-spiked, chocolate-ganache filling & a Bailey’s buttercream frosting.  These don’t sound smug, but all of that does give them the potential of being uppity.  That’s a top ten list of cupcake recipes at the Brown-Eyed Baker.
