My Year To Thrive

"My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style." ~Maya Angelou

My Victories

I have decided to replace my progress page, which focused on my weight & measurements, with a page to record my accomplishments along the way.

Having decided to follow the Health At Every Size path, I no longer want to measure my success by numbers.  I would rather focus on how I feel & what I can do.  I can’t control what the scale says, but I do control every day I get out there & work towards my goals.  Those are my victories.

What's beautiful - judging yourself in miles not inches

Believing in our hearts that who we are is enough is the key to a more satisfying and balanced life.
~Ellen Sue Stern (Famous Quotes & Authors)

7-26-2012: One of my main goals with my Bipolar Disorder has been to get stable on a med regimen & return to work.  I don’t know if I’m quite stable yet, at least not the kind that will hold up for long & under any sort of stress, but I signed up for a jobs program to prepare me to return to work.  When I do go back to work it will only be part-time at first, but I’m really excited about it.

7-14-2012: Here is a post where I talk about the difficulty of setting mental health goals, as opposed to how easy it is to set goals related to running.  There’s also zombies.

How far I can run without stopping towards my  goal of 13.1mi by April 27, 2012!

8/4/2012: I can run a 5K without a walk break.

3/17/2012:  I finally met my goal of running an entire mile.
