My Year To Thrive

"My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style." ~Maya Angelou

When people ask me why I run, I tell them, there’s not really a reason, it’s just the adrenalin when you start, and the feeling when you cross that finish line, and know that you are a winner no matter what place you got.
~Courtney Parsons (Running Quotes)

**NOTE: I’ve decided to hold off on the races for a while since my 5K went so horribly for me.  I think until I get a better grip on dealing with new people & places, & crowds in general probably signing up to run with all three of those things is a bad idea.

The St. Jude Country Music Half Marathon

Okay, so maybe “races” is a bit misleading.  I do not race or compete with anyone but myself.*  It was just the best name for this page I could think of.

*  (I hate competition in general.  If I lose, I feel sad for me.  If I win, I feel sad for everyone else.  Even if I’m not competing, I still feel sad for the people who don’t win.  I can’t watch any of those tv talent shows.)

Walked my first 5K Sat, 3/12/11 for my friend Suse & her cat Albert! Had intended on doing walk/run intervals, but was under the weather & just couldn’t stomach the running part
