My Year To Thrive

"My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style." ~Maya Angelou

I’ve been using LK for a few months now.  I’m not sure if I’ve ever mentioned it, but now they have a membership drive going on & if I get three more people to sign up through my link I win a t-shirt 😀  It’s a social site for active living where you earn points for what you do.  Everyone gets a daily allotment of points, & for every 10pts you award to others you get 5pts back, plus all the points others award you.  The social set-up is like a cross between Facebook & Twitter.  You post, comment, & like (“high-five”) like fb, but you can tag & follow tags like Twitter.  The people are nice & it’s a fun community.  It’s based out of Chattanooga, Tennessee, so I like that they are close to home.  It’s fun to be involved with an online community I can actually be a part of during their offline activities.

Here is a blurb about them from their blog:

We’re a team of hungry, foolish 20-somethings, looking to change the world with Life Kraze—a platform that rewards people for what they accomplish. We’re building an online community where people encourage each other to be active offline. Follow along with us and our loyal mascot Chester as we figure out first-time entrepreneurship, launching a startup, and building the next big thing from Chattanooga, Tennessee.

You can exchange your points for LK gear & discounts from partner merchants.  So far the only thing I’ve gotten is the LK headband, but I’m hoping I can snag a discount when I get ready to buy new shoes.

Me in my neon green LK headband ready to run.

And here is a screen shot of posts from my profile just to give you a better sense of it.

If you’re interested, you should sign up through me so I can win an exclusive t-shirt 😀

My Car partially uncovered during The Great Blizzard of 2011

My car partially uncovered. I know that counts as exercise!

Let me just say I’ve been pretty much useless this week.  I haven’t been able to get out of the house all week & so I’ve sat around working on this blog, setting up a Twitter, & generally farting around online.  I did manage to get in three days of exercise though, & I tracked every day faithfully.  I went over points on three days, but still ended the week with plenty of weekly points left & never had to touch my activity points.  I’m claiming that as a success!
