Now That’s It’s Thursday Again… Last Week’s Weigh-In

“Reality check:  you can never, ever, use weight loss to solve problems that are not related to your weight.  At your goal weight or not, you still have to live with yourself and deal with your problems.  You will still have the same husband, the same job, the same kids, and the same life.  Losing weight is not a cure for life.” ~Phillip C. March 2011 progress pic

..And finally here is March’s progress pic, since it’s nearly April. I started March at 247, but this pic was taken at 246.2.

At last Thursday’s Weight Watchers weigh-in I lost 2.6lbs; 243.6lbs.  Hurray!  That put my total loss at 26.6lbs, which meant several things:

  1. I’m only 0.4lbs from my first 10% goal:~) Continue reading

For Valentine’s Day I Loved ME!

“You have to stay in shape.  My grandmother, she started walking five miles a day when she was 60.  She’s 97 today and we don’t know where the hell she is.”

Feb 2011 progress pic, 248.6

If I had taken this pic when I should have it would show more progress, but alas I waited to take these till after the week I was sick & gained. Oh well! It’s just a couple of weeks till more are due, so you probably won’t see much then either, lol.

A quick post since I have been remiss.  Here are the progress pics for February I took last week & am just now getting around to editing & posting.  I lost a total of 3.2lbs in January.  Some people may not think that’s much, but I consider it a successful month:~)

Not only am I losing weight, but it’s at as a pleasant side effect of some real changes I am making in my life.  I’m not just eating better, I’m thinking better about eating. I am eating better foods because I want to eat better for me, not because I’m gritting my teeth & trying to stick to a diet. (I don’t know how the italics got on for that sentence, but I like it so I’m keeping it!)  That’s an awesome change that means I can make it a permanent change. Continue reading

The Meetings Will Continue Until Morale Improves… Progress Check

You’ve got to say, I think that if I keep working at this and want it badly enough I can have it.  It’s called perseverance.

Jan 2011 Progress pics

It was in the 30s out & my camera was giving me issues, so ignore the unpleasantness I was radiating when these pics were taken.

So, I had a good week I am proud to report!  The last Weight Watchers meeting I had attended was before Christmas, so it had been three weeks.  I had also not tracked or exercised much, or mostly at all, in that time, & had eaten out a lot; so naturally I was nervous.  But I was also hopeful.  I felt thinner.  That’s gotta count for something, right?  I had gained 1.6 pounds at the last weigh-in, so I was doubly hoping for a loss this time; at least enough to balance out what I had gained.
